Compatibility
Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Qwen and Osaurus through the desktop app, according to the README. The README says the install script also targets GitHub Copilot, Antigravity, OpenClaw, Aider, Windsurf, Kimi Code, Hermes, Mistral Vibe and DeepSeek Harness.
External costs
The repository is MIT-licensed. The opening sections of the README state no pricing for the agent files or the desktop app. Your coding agent or model provider may charge for usage.
Permissions
The agent files act through your coding tool with the access you give it. According to the README, the install script copies agent files into your tool's folder, such as the Claude Code agents folder, and the conversion script generates integration files. The README says the desktop app installs agents into your coding tools for you and keeps them up to date. The README does not say in general what the agents can do with files, shell commands or the network. Some agents in its roster describe autonomous actions, such as publishing content or processing payments; check each agent's file before you install it.
Usage terms

What it does

The Agency is a collection of AI agent definitions for coding tools. According to the README, each agent is a specialist with its own personality, processes and deliverables. The README says each agent file holds identity and personality traits, a core mission and workflows, technical deliverables with code examples, and success metrics and a communication style.

The README's roster tables list agents in divisions for engineering, design, paid media, sales and marketing. Engineering examples include Frontend Developer, Backend Architect, Code Reviewer and Technical Writer. The repository also has top-level folders named academic, finance, game-development, gis, healthcare, product, project-management, research, security, spatial-computing, specialized, strategy, support and testing.

You use an agent by installing its file into your coding tool. For Claude Code, the README shows copying a division folder into the Claude agents folder and then asking Claude to activate an agent, for example Frontend Developer mode. It also describes an install script, a conversion script for other tools, and a separate desktop app.

Who it is for

People who use a coding tool such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex and want ready-made specialist agent files for engineering, design, sales, marketing and other roles.

Example tasks

Copy the engineering agents into Claude Code and ask it to activate Frontend Developer mode.
Install only chosen divisions, such as engineering and security, for Claude Code.
List every team and its agent count.
Install selected agents, such as frontend-developer and ui-designer, for Cursor.
Browse an agent file as a reference and adapt it.

Getting started

The README gives three routes. The first is a desktop app, installed on a Mac with brew install --cask msitarzewski/agency-agents/agency-agents. The second copies agents into Claude Code with ./scripts/install.sh --tool claude-code, or by copying a division folder by hand. The third, for other tools, runs ./scripts/convert.sh and then ./scripts/install.sh, with --tool to pick a tool and --division to pick teams. The README has the exact commands.

Limitations

It needs a coding tool that can load agent files. For the script route, the README says tools other than Claude Code need a conversion step first: ./scripts/convert.sh, then ./scripts/install.sh. It says OpenCode registers only about 119 agents and silently drops the rest because of an upstream bug, so you should install a subset with --division. The opening sections of the README name no required model or account. The repository can change at any time; check its README before you install.

Data practices

The opening sections of the README do not describe data handling. What is sent where depends on your coding tool and model provider.
