Compatibility
According to the README: Claude Code, through plugins installed from a marketplace; Codex desktop, through the Click AI for Codex plugin, with a current Codex CLI that supports plugins or the desktop Plugins panel; and other runtimes that can read markdown, through copied or symlinked skill folders. The README names Claude, Codex, Gemini and Grok as the advisors in the advisory-board skill.
External costs
The repository is MIT-licensed and states no pricing. Your coding agent or model provider may charge for usage.
Permissions
The skills act through your coding agent with the access you give it. According to the README, setup seeds a repository binding document, domain-memory writes glossary and decision records, handoff writes snapshots, show-me-your-work writes a decision log, implement makes checkpoint commits, and pr-writing prepares pull requests and replies. The README describes ingest as consuming videos, recordings or media URLs, which can involve fetching third-party content. The README describes plainspoken as active once installed and other skills as activating when tasks fit. The README says choosing lead mode during setup makes new sessions in that repository open as orchestrator. The README says the Codex edition installs no automatic hooks and does not change global agent files, model settings, accounts or Claude configuration. The README's manual route creates links under ~/.claude/skills.
Usage terms

What it does

Skills For Real Non-Engineers is a collection of agent skills. The README describes each SKILL.md as a Markdown playbook and groups shipped skills under orient, decide, investigate, run and author. The README says adapted skills record their sources in their own Attribution sections.

The README describes setup as binding the team-workflow pack to a repository through an interview, handoff as writing a session snapshot, and orchestrate as coordinating parallel lanes. The README describes grilling as interviewing the decision-maker, advisory-board as putting a decision to Claude, Codex, Gemini and Grok, and ingest as turning media into an evidence packet.

The README offers Claude Code packages and Click AI for Codex, adapted for Astra workflows. The README says skills activate when a task fits and can also be requested by name.

Who it is for

The README says the pack is for people who can explain what they want built and would rather lead the work than write it, and that engineers can pick individual skills.

Example tasks

Run setup once in a repository to bind the team-workflow pack to your project.
Have the agent interview you about a plan with grilling before a change big enough to argue about.
Put one expensive decision to the advisory board and read its recommendation.
Write a handoff so a fresh session can resume the work.
Turn a video or media URL into an evidence packet with ingest.

Getting started

For Claude Code, the README adds the marketplace once, then installs the plugins you want, such as team-workflow, advisory-board or ingest. For Codex desktop, it gives two codex plugin commands that add the marketplace and the clickai-codex plugin. You can also select Click AI for Codex in the Plugins panel. Then start a new task and ask for clickai-codex:setup in your project. The README says to disable the legacy clickai-skills plugin in that Codex profile if present. For other runtimes, it says to copy or symlink skill folders where the runtime finds skills. It shows a shell snippet that links the promoted skills into the Claude Code personal skills folder. The README has the exact commands.

Limitations

The README gives Claude Code marketplace installation, a Click AI for Codex route requiring current plugin support, and manual copying or symlinking for other Markdown-reading runtimes. The README says Astra is the Codex edition's adaptation target rather than a required model, and names Claude, Codex, Gemini and Grok as advisory-board participants.

The README says only promoted buckets ship; in-progress, misc and deprecated content is excluded. The README says teams with established processes may prefer standalone skills and that the pack has no review-response system of its own: pr-writing sets a response floor and defers to repository-specific systems. The repository can change at any time; check its README before you install.

Data practices

According to the README, advisory-board is read-only by default, and you approve exactly what leaves your machine, or you can run a fully local board. For the other skills, the README does not say where data goes. What is sent where depends on your coding agent and model provider.
