Compatibility
According to the README: Claude Code (plugin marketplace or manual copy), Claude.ai and Claude Desktop (ZIP upload), Gemini CLI and Codex CLI (copy the skill folder), and Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode and other agents that support Agent Skills. The tools need Python 3.8 or later.
External costs
The repository is MIT-licensed and states no pricing. Your coding agent or model provider may charge for usage.
Permissions
The skill acts through your coding agent with the access you give it. According to the README, its Python scripts read SVG files and write PNG, ICO, HTML and other output files. Installation uses the Claude Code plugin marketplace, a ZIP upload, or copying the skill folder into personal or project skill directories. The README's personal paths include ~/.claude/skills/logo-design, ~/.gemini/skills/logo-design or ~/.agents/skills/, and ~/.codex/skills/logo-design; personal installs apply across projects.
Usage terms
MIT License, as stated in the repository. See its LICENSE file for the exact terms. The README limits MIT coverage to the skill text, scripts, templates and catalog data. The README says the logo files in assets/library/svg/ are their owners' trademarks, included for reference and education, and excluded from MIT coverage; it points to TRADEMARKS.md. The README identifies the example brands as fictional briefs.

What it does

Logo Design Skill is an Agent Skills package for logo design, from briefs and concepts to SVG files and brand guidelines. The README lists discovery, geometric construction, colour, typography, lockups, presentation, delivery, redesigns and identity systems.

The repository contains skills/logo-design with a SKILL.md and reference documents. The README describes a searchable library of real-world SVG logos classified by visual characteristics and industry, intended for studying construction and category conventions. The README lists Python tools for SVG audits, concept and test sheets, presentation boards, PNG rendering and icon exports.

The README describes a workflow of brief, library research, concept development and refinement. The README tells the agent to use svg_audit.py and preview_sheet.py before presenting a concept overview with a recommendation, then wait for your chosen direction before producing the kit.

Who it is for

People who want an AI agent to help design logos, wordmarks, app icons and favicons, or to critique and refresh an existing logo.

Example tasks

Design a calm-feeling logo for a savings app for first-time savers.
Critique an existing logo.svg and suggest a refresh.
Give three wordmark directions for a specialty coffee roaster called Kiln.
Turn a symbol into favicon, app icon and one-colour versions, plus a one-page usage guide.

Getting started

For Claude Code, the README recommends the plugin marketplace: /plugin marketplace add kaankiziltug/logo-design-skill, then /plugin install logo-design@logo-design-skill. It also describes copying the skills/logo-design folder into your personal or project skills directory, uploading logo-design.zip from the Releases page in Claude.ai or Claude Desktop, and copying the folder into the skills directory of Gemini CLI or Codex CLI. Then start a new session and ask for a logo. The README has the exact commands.

Limitations

Needs an agent that supports Agent Skills. The README names Claude Code, Claude.ai and Claude Desktop, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode. It says the skill works best with a model that can view images, because it renders its own drafts to PNG and checks them before showing you anything. The tools need Python 3.8 or later. The README says PNG and ICO export uses whichever renderer is available: cairosvg, rsvg-convert, Inkscape, a Chromium-based browser or macOS Quick Look. For Claude.ai and Claude Desktop the README gives a ZIP upload, and a logo-design-lite.zip without the SVG files if your upload has a size limit. The repository can change at any time; check its README before you install.

Data practices

The README describes scripts that take SVG files as inputs and generate PNG, ICO and HTML output files. For Claude.ai and Claude Desktop, the README describes uploading the skill ZIP under Settings → Capabilities → Skills. The README does not describe transmission or retention of your design inputs; those details depend on your coding agent and model provider.
